Expert in International Relations, Civic Education, and Media Communication

Freelance Journalist and Lecturer with over 15 years of experience providing political science and journalistic expertise to cross-border initiatives in Eastern Europe and worldwide. Holding a PhD in Political Science alongside degrees in Law and Linguistics, I offer a multidisciplinary profile that combines in-depth analysis with the accessible communication of complex topics. As a lecturer and moderator, I lead seminars and professional events focused on education, migration, integration, and the promotion of democracy. My publicist and conceptual work is driven by a global mindset and practice-oriented creativity.

Expertise

Following my relocation from Kyiv (Ukraine) to the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region (Germany) in 2024, I bridge my international communication and specialized expertise with the European media and educational landscape. This portfolio showcases my long-standing experience in conceptualizing and leading international dialogue projects, journalistic initiatives, and endeavors in the field of international relations.

International Project Management & Democracy Promotion

Transforming data into impactful narratives and journalistic content.

I oversaw the technical and editorial direction of a $45.7 million USAID media and information program within the Office of Democracy and Governance in Ukraine. In this capacity, I developed the analytical frameworks for public information projects across the digital transformation, healthcare, infrastructure, transport, and economic development sectors. Collaborating closely with partners on content strategy, I coordinated the production of over 4,000 informational and journalistic pieces, which achieved a global reach of more than 300 million people. Furthermore, I utilized data-driven analysis to optimize program delivery and provided scholarly, expert synthesis of communication strategies and crisis analysis methodologies in high-risk environments for international partners and state actors.

Journalism & Media Cooperation

Crafting authentic stories. Building trust.

My media background seamlessly blends international political analysis with deep local storytelling. As a political analyst and journalist for the international broadcaster UA|TV in Ukraine, I produced television features on European integration, interviewed high-ranking government officials and international experts, and established editorial collaborations with global media partners, including Deutsche Welle. Today, I bring these competencies to the German media and press landscape on a freelance basis. Writing feature profiles for the Hanauer Anzeiger enables me to deepen my local insight and community engagement.

International Cooperation

Building resilient partnerships. Fostering global dialogue.

From heading the International Relations Office at a state university to providing scholarly support for national media legislation, my career focuses on academic-analytical exchange and cross-border expertise. As a former policy advisor to the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine, I contributed to aligning Ukrainian media legislation with EU standards.

I served as her academic host here. As a Visiting Scholar, Yuliia regularly participated in research discussions and reading groups in my team and conducted her own research on public policy-making in the EU and in Ukraine. I got to know Yuliia as a very engaged, active, hardworking, interested, and open-minded person, who adapted easily to new challenges and contexts.

I got to know Yuliia in my capacity as the Senior Media Advisor for USAID’s Europe & Eurasia Bureau. At USAID/Ukraine, she led a complex, $46 million strategic communications initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s democratic resilience through partnerships with the Ukrainian government, civil society, and the creative sector. The program tackled some of the most difficult challenges in the democracy space, including countering disinformation, engaging citizens in democratic reforms, and advancing Ukraine’s European integration. Yuliia brought extraordinary creativity, rigor, and determination to every facet of it. The work was personal and deeply meaningful to her. She had an ability to combine data-driven strategy with genuine innovation, consistently finding fresh, effective approaches to advance US and Ukrainian goals. She is a leader who understands high-stakes, high-complexity work, and delivers what is needed, even in a very difficult environment. I would work with her again in a heartbeat.
